As the year winds down, I would be wrong to not include my Best of 2009. This was a great year for the New York theatre scene and here are, in no particular order, the Best Musicals of 2009:

• Next to Normal
• Rock of Ages
• Memphis
• Fela
• Rooms: a rock romance
• The Toxic Avenger
• This Beautiful City
